In 2020, Medicare removed the ear wax removal procedure rebate. However, there is still a Medicare rebate for the consultation. As a result, our fee structure changed on 1 August 2020.
|Practice Fee||Medicare Rebate||Out of Pocket Cost|
|Consult +/- ear wax removal* up to 30 minutes||$155.00||$39.10||$115.90|
|Extended Medicare Safety Net**||As above||$115.82 to $131.82||$19.18 to $23.18|
|Consult + ear foreign body removal||Please call||Please call||$60.90|
|DVA Gold||Bulk billed||Not applicable||$0.00|
*Procedures are only performed when clinically relevant. Fees are payable at the end of each visit.
**The Extended Medicare Safety Net gives you a higher Medicare rebate if you or your family have spent over a certain amount on out of hospital medical services in a calendar year. Further details are available on the Services Australia website – Link
The preferred method of payment is EFTPOS (savings or cheque). Visa and Mastercard card payments cost us about 1% in merchant fees and these payments may attract a 0.5% surcharge. If you have registered your bank details with Medicare, your Medicare claim will be electronically transmitted and the Medicare rebate will be directly transferred to your bank account.
Non Attendance Fee
If you do not attend an appointment and do not contact us to cancel, you may be charged a fee of $20.00. The preferred way to cancel is to reply to the booking confirmation email. Alternatively, you may email to firstname.lastname@example.org
